ABOUT

JOO KIM (SCENIC DESIGNER) is scenic designer based in New York from South Korea. 

Her recent credits include Pass Over(Luna Stage), Princess Maleine(DellArte Opera Ensemble) and La Liberazione Di Ruggiero Dall’Isola D’Alcina(DellArte Opera Ensemble). Her other credits include Opera Hansèl and Gretel(New Jersey City University), Frankenstein(Ramapo Collage), Raising Jo(Theatre Row) and Cancer Cancer Cancer(Ars Nova), Silent Lyre(Elm City Concert). At Yale School of Drama her works include Everything That Never Happened(Iseman Theater), Fucking A(Iseman Theater), Some Bodies Travel(Iesman Theater), Caught (Yale Cabaret), Current Location(Yale Cabaret), The Cunning Little Vixen(OTYC). Joo has a BA in fine arts from Hongik University in South Korea.

About Me

JOO KIM (JooHyun Kim) is a set designer, production designer, and assistant art director based in South Korea.

She worked in New York City for over eight years(2017-2025), building her career as a professional set and production designer for theater and television. Her recent credits include Be True to Your School (2024) as Production Designer; Poker Face (Season 2), Your Friends and Neighbors (Season 1), and American Horror Story (Season 12) as Assistant Art Director; and Call Me Izzy (Studio 54) and Clueless (Trafalgar Theatre) as Associate Set Designer.

Joo holds a BFA in Fine Arts from Hongik University (Seoul, South Korea) and an MFA in Set Design from the Yale School of Drama (’17).
